Who We Are
Jack Wilbur
Jack Wilbur is a social marketing and marketing research specialist with 14 years of experience working as a public information specialist for the state of Utah. During this time, he has assisted many local agencies and nonprofit organizations to plan, research, implement, and evaluate social marking programs in the area of water quality.
For the past six years Jack has also been the co-chair of the States-EPA NPS Information Transfer and Outreach workgroup, laboring to bring his social marketing message to watershed committees throughout the country.
Jack focuses his private consulting work on health care, personal and public safety, and educational issues. While he continues to work the front lines of social marketing campaigns, Jack is committed to training local groups to do much of the work themselves as a way to stretch limited resources.
Jan L. Tyler
Jan Tyler is an educational consultant for professional development, educational program assessment, and educational program evaluation, currently working with several agencies, organizations, and companies.
In 2005, Jan retired from the State of Utah following an illustrious career that included 13 years as an education specialist for the Utah State Office of Education and serving as the first Human Resource Director for the Utah Department of Social Services, the first of that position for any State of Utah agency.
Jan’s educational background includes a Master’s degree in Education from Arizona State University and a Doctorate in Education Administration from the University of Utah.
Kari Cutler
Kari Cutler is a nonprofit consultant working with organizations to develop and manage projects, grants and contracts, sustainability and evaluation plans, policies and procedures, and budgets. Since 1999, she has raised over seven and a half million dollars in cash, and leveraged over nine million dollars of in-kind donations for the organizations with whom she works. Currently, she serves as Grants Manager and Chief Financial Officer to the Utah Family Center, a statewide organization empowering families with tools to create positive educational outcomes for their children.
To improve organizational capacity, Kari conducts trainings on issues regarding cultural competence, sustainability and grant writing, risk and protective factors. Working to strengthen communities, Kari also provides training to on finding alternatives to violence, improving communication and conflict resolution, and rallying community resources and support to create hope for young people.
Kari’s board and committee work includes the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, Utah State 4-H Expansion and Review Board, Coalition for Utah Families; she has served as a facilitator for the Utah State Office of Education’s State Strategic Plan for American Indian and Alaskan Native Education. She is an active member of Utah PTA, the Earthstewards Network, and the National Center for Nonprofit Boards. Working with Utah Federation for Youth, Kari has hosted PeaceTrees, a two week international program designed to bring together teens from different cultures, backgrounds, and life views to develop positive communication skills.
Kari has received the Sheldon Coleman Award for Excellence in Outdoor Activities for Youth, the Utah Commission on Volunteers’ Red Wagon Award, National Join-Hands Day Excellence Award, and Salt Lake Olympic Committee’s Spirit of the Land Award.
